Fabiana Varillas and Rodrigo Subauste take home the gold medal in Poomsae, elevating Peruvian sports to new heights
By achieving nine medals, including one gold, the Peruvian Taekwondo team had an outstanding performance at the Pan Am Series Costa Rica 2023.
In the Poomsae category, Fabiana Varillas and Rodrigo Subauste won the gold medal in the Traditional Poomsae Junior Pair event.
Favio Mancilla achieved the silver medal in the Freestyle Poomsae Under 17 category, while Raquel Gil and Mateo Palacios won the silver medal in the Cadet Pair Traditional Poomsae event.
Furthermore, Rodrigo Subauste placed second in the Junior Male Traditional Poomsae Individual event, and Karla Martínez won another silver medal in the Freestyle Poomsae Over 17 individual category.
In addition, the Peruvian team also won bronze medals: Karla Martínez and Caleb Pandal in the Freestyle Poomsae Over 17 Pair category, Gabriela Castillo in the Freestyle Poomsae Over 17 category, Sebastián Guzmán in the Senior 1 Male Traditional Poomsae Individual event, and Mateo Palacios in the Cadet Male Traditional Poomsae Individual event.
