If having a shirt with the number and name of Lionel Messi is a luxury for some, imagine having one with his autograph. Well, some Argentinians will have the possibility to fulfill that dream by participating in a charity auction, where the proceeds will be destined for a good cause.
This auction is being organized by actress and presenter Mirtha Legrand, who recently received this gift from the Argentine. After talking to Celia Cuccitini, the mother of the 'Flea', they reached an agreement to organize this charity event in support of a children's hospital.
The starting price for the auction will be 500,000 Argentine pesos (2,700 dollars) and it will be held at the XXIII Solidarity Gala Dinner of FUNDAMI, and the money raised will be destined for the Victorio Tetamanti Maternal and Children's Hospital in the city of Mar del Plata, about 400 kilometers from the Argentine capital.
Legrand could be present at the gala, which will bring together around 250 people who paid between 30,000 to 50,000 pesos (162 to 270 dollars) to participate in this auction, according to the organizers. A hat from singer Abel Pintos' collection, signed, will also be auctioned, and a trip to Europe will be raffled.
Messi recalls what happened in the World Cup final
This Monday, Lionel Messi spoke with 'Urbana Play' and recalled the most emotional moments after winning the World Cup title in Qatar 2022. 'Leo' confessed unpublished details of everything he went through and the satisfaction that it meant for him to achieve something he had been dreaming of his whole life.
"What I dreamed of happened and it came at the end of my career. I lifted the trophy and then there was a party, but it didn't matter anymore. It's heavy. Everything I imagined was small compared to what it was. My feelings, those of my teammates, those of my family and all of Argentina's," said the Argentine in dialogue with 'Urbana Play'.
In addition, the 'Flea' noted that he never imagined feeling the support, not only from the people of his country but from the whole world. "It was inexplicable and something that had never happened before, that so many people around the world supported me to become champion. It was a key energy for it to happen," he added.
In another moment of the interview, Messi recalled everything he had to go through to achieve the goal he had been seeking. He left behind the lost finals and relied on the sincere support of his family and those who were always with him in good times and bad.
"There were times when I suffered a lot with the National Team. Disappointments, lost finals. I had received many criticisms of all kinds and I know that my family suffered like me, even more. We won the Copa America, we won the World Cup. That's it, nothing remains," commented the '10' of the 'Albiceleste'.
