The South American Football Confederation (Conmebol), in the words of its president Alejandro Domínguez, proposed this Sunday to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to change three of the five stars on the chest of their shirt for their World championships for three hearts, in tribute to Pelé who was born 82 years ago in Tres Corazones (Minas Gerais).

The initiative was launched during an event held in Doha (Qatar) to pay tribute and support Edson Arantes do Nascimento 'Pelé', who has been hospitalized since November 29 at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, where he is recovering successfully from a lung infection, according to doctors.

"As Conmebol, we propose to the CBF, so that Pelé always lives on the shirt of all of us who love football, to change three of their stars for three hearts. So that everyone knows that, although he was not the only one responsible for the three World championships, because football is a team sport, he made 'jogo bonito' be born," said Alejandro Domínguez.

"We want to give him this recognition on behalf of where Pelé comes from, where football and 'jogo bonito' were born, from the countries that make up Conmebol. He is a 'crack' who already lives in all of our hearts. Strength and long live the king," he continued.

"Pelé was an inspiration because with him, the number '10' was born. The true shirt of the superstar, the idol, the star, the gifted player. Starting from him, it becomes an inspiration, but Pelé is incomparable," he assured.
