Argentina beats Poland
The Argentina national team defeated Poland 2-0 in their last match of Group C at the Qatar 2022 World Cup. In this way, they secured their spot in the round of 16 as the first-place team in the group. However, Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny revealed after the match that he made a curious bet with the Argentine's number 10.
In the 37th minute of the match, Lionel Messi went out to connect a cross but ended up being hit by Szczesny. The referee reviewed the VAR to determine if a penalty should be awarded.
It was at that moment that the Polish goalkeeper approached the 'Flea' to bet him 100 euros that they wouldn't award a penalty.

“I bet Messi 100 euros that the referee wouldn't give a penalty, so I lost a bet with the captain of Argentina. I don't know if it's allowed, maybe I'll be punished,” said Szczęsny.
Despite losing the bet to Messi, the Polish goalkeeper stated that he wouldn't pay because the star "already has enough money." Once the penalty was awarded, the Polish goalkeeper saved the shot from the penalty spot.
