scored the final goal (3-1) at the Metropolitano stadium in Barranquilla with a perfect free-kick on the 90th minute. Thus, the Ecuadorian player became the first player to score for his national team in 43 years on Colombian soil in the Qualifiers.

3-1 on Tuesday and revived the hope of its fans, in a match for the sixth round of the South American qualifying for the Russia 2018 World Cup, played at the Metropolitano stadium in Barranquilla.

The Colombian team consolidated the footballing recovery it had shown in its 3-2 victory against Bolivia last Thursday in La Paz and reached 10 points in the table, while Ecuador remained with 13 points.

were scored by AC Milan's top scorer Carlos Bacca in the 14th and 66th minutes, and defensive midfielder Sebastián Pérez in the 47th minute, while Michael Arroyo scored a consolation goal for Ecuador in the 90th minute.
