The Qatar 2022 World Cup will kick off on Sunday, November 20 with the hosts' debut against Ecuador at the Al-Bayt Stadium (11:00 a.m. - Peru time). But weeks before, the major leagues in Europe and South America will pause their competitions to give exclusivity to the football party.

The Champions League has already determined its 16 qualifiers for the round of 16 and the tournaments of Ligue 1, Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga will pause on the weekend of November 12 and 13, while La Liga in Spain will do so starting from November 9.
In South America, Nacional in Uruguay and Boca Juniors in Argentina were the champions; the First Division of Venezuela ended on October 30; Chile concludes its tournament on November 6; our League 1 will define the champion on November 12; Brazil with the Brasileirao and Ecuador with its Serie A will do the same on November 13; while Paraguay will do it one day later; but the leagues of Bolivia and Colombia will continue with their competitions while the World Cup is ongoing.
The FIFA has already accepted the request of the Bolivian Football Federation to keep the first division tournament going, it only remains to determine on which days the six pending matchdays will be played. Meanwhile, in Colombia, it was initially said that the championship would end on November 16, however, the League decided to change the date and the tournament will continue until November 30.
