Which countries in South America can you travel to with just your national ID card?
Due to the fact that some countries in South America have treaties and belong to the Andean Community (CAN), you can visit them with just your identity document. You will have no problem entering the following countries: Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
No country in South America requires a visa, except for Suriname; however, if you are just passing through, you can apply for a tourist card for a single entry.
