YouTube never ceases to amaze us with its viral videos. On the social media platform, we have seen everything in terms of soccer: amazing goals, great assists, and different types of skills. However, what currently stands out on the mentioned platform is the video of the incredible goal that Rony scored in the 1-1 draw between Palmeiras and Fluminense in the 24th round of the Brasileirao. The Verdao star's goal has been so spectacular that many consider it the top candidate to win the FIFA Puskas Award 2022.
As seen in the viral YouTube video, just seven minutes into the game, Dudu launched an attack down the right and crossed the ball to Rony without hesitation. Palmeiras' forward surprised everyone with an overhead kick to score the opening goal of the match.
Rony's amazing goal was matched by Manoel, who equalized for Fluminense in the 38th minute with a header from a corner kick. Although there were no more goals, Rony's astonishing goal stole the show. The spectacle was not lacking at Maracana stadium.
The draw at Maracana took Palmeiras to 50 points, compared to Fluminense's 42 and Flamengo's 40, who will play against Botafogo on Sunday and, in case of victory, could get closer to the leader.
Palmeiras, the champion of the last two editions of the Copa Libertadores, has now consecutively drawn two matches, but with a positive balance, as they were against their closest pursuers, Flamengo and Fluminense.
In other matches of the round, on Saturday, Goiás defeated Atlético Goianense 2-1, while Coritiba won 1-0 against Avaí, in games of interest for the bottom of the standings.
On Sunday, the matches between América-Atlético Mineiro, Sao Paulo-Fortaleza, Botafogo-Flamengo, and Cuiabá-Santos will be played, while on Monday, Internacional-Juventude and Corinthians-Bragantino will face each other.
