Since last March, Adidas has been selling the official ball for the World Cup Qatar 2022: Al Rihla. The ball that will start rolling from November 20th to December 18th with the World Cup final, "moves through the air faster than any other ball in the tournament's history and is suitable for fast-paced and high-quality matches," as explained by FIFA on its website.

What does Al Rihla mean?
Al Rihla means "the journey" in Arabic, and it is inspired by the culture, architecture, iconic boats, and the flag of Qatar.
Characteristics of Al Rihla
- CRT-CORE: the heart of the ball. It provides speed, precision, and consistency in high-intensity matches, and maintains the shape, air, and precision of the rebound to the maximum.
- SPEEDSHELL: a textured polyurethane leather with a novel shape with 20 panels that improves precision, stability, and rotation in the air thanks to macro and microtextures, as well as the surface's relief.
How was Al Rihla designed?
According to FIFA, Adidas designed the ball for the World Cup Qatar 2022 after collecting data and conducting rigorous tests in Adidas' laboratories, wind tunnels, and on the pitch. "Al Rihla offers optimal levels of precision and reliability on the field, partly due to the novel shape of its panels and the new surface textures," explained the world football entity.
Adidas presented the World Cup Qatar 2022 ball with the image of Lionel Messi.
