Chile - PlanVital Championship 2022: Palestino defeats Coquimbo U. 5-1

On matchday 18 of the Chile - PlanVital Championship 2022, forward Maximiliano Salas scored twice in the crushing 5-1 victory of Palestino over Coquimbo U. The goals for the home team were scored by Ariel Martínez (7' 1T), Maximiliano Salas (8' 2T and 33' 2T), Cristián Suárez (24' 2T), and Felipe Yañez (2' 2T, own goal). The only goal for the visitors was scored by Joe Abrigo (35' 1T, penalty kick).

Cristián Suárez earned applause with his brilliant finish at the 24th minute of the second half. After receiving a pass from Bryan Carrasco, the defender headed the ball from the penalty area, and it went in over the goalkeeper's left post.

Maximiliano Salas had a great performance. The Palestino striker shone by scoring 2 goals, taking 3 shots, and making 8 successful passes.

Ariel Martínez also had a good performance. The Palestino midfielder scored 1 goal, made 31 successful passes, and dared to take 4 shots.

Matías Quila was in charge of supervising the order of play during the match.

In the next round, Palestino will face U. Católica away, while Coquimbo U. will play at home against D. La Serena.

With this result, Palestino sits in fifth place in the championship with 29 points, while Coquimbo U. remains in fifteenth place with 13 points.
