Erick Pulgar's name, a footballer representing the Chilean national team, is involved in a case of sexual abuse. This Wednesday, various local media reported on a complaint filed by a woman. In the testimony given to the authorities, this person revealed that the act occurred at a party organized by the player at his home, located in Calera de Tango.
In the account, the victim told the carabineros that, initially, she was in a pub located in the Las Condes neighborhood. Precisely, the woman recounted that she lost consciousness there and at least ten people took her to the athlete's residence. In addition to Pulgar, other footballers also attended the event, but their identities are unknown.
Marcelo Ruiz, the captain of the carabineros, provided more details. In the statement to the media, he indicated that the police in Vitacura "received a complaint from a woman who claims to have been a victim of sexual assault over the weekend at a residence located in the southern area of the capital".
In the same line, Ruiz stated that "specialized personnel are carrying out inquiries in order to identify the whereabouts of the perpetrator(s) of this act and to present the evidence to the Public Ministry".
In fact, the newspaper La Tercera revealed that the authorities have already taken a statement from Erick Pulgar. At the same time, people close to the winner of the Copa América Centenario with the national team indicated that "he is not involved in the incident".
Furthermore, these testimonies affirm that in the midfielder's house "there are cameras that would help prove the defense of the Chilean player", according to the information provided by the cited southern newspaper.
The case involving Erick Pulgar will continue, as the authorities have initiated a series of investigations. In fact, the woman who reported being sexually assaulted has undergone the corresponding medical examinations, and protective measures have also been requested for her safety.
