The South Korean forward shone with a free-kick goal and sealed the victory against the 'Roja', in a friendly match played in Daejeon.

Heung-min Son and his teammates spoiled Eduardo Berizzo's debut on the bench of the Chilean national team. South Korea claimed victory over the 'Roja' on Monday, with a score of 2-0, in a friendly match during the FIFA international break. The goals were scored by Hwang Hee-Chan and one from Tottenham's star player.

Son sealed the victory with a brilliant free-kick. The 29-year-old athlete scored with a right-footed shot that flew over the wall and eluded goalkeeper Fernando De Paul's reach, even though he dove to try and redirect its trajectory.

It was a special night for Son in Daejeon. The former Bayer Leverkusen player reached 100 appearances with the national team of South Korea against Chile. The Korean Football Association dedicated a message to him, saying, "Thank you for playing in the Korean national team for the last 100 matches. We wish you all the best in the future."

Chile prepares for the Kirin Cup

It was not the best debut for Berizzo as coach of the 'Roja', as he recently joined the team after the dismissal of Martín Lasarte, following the failure to qualify for the Qatar World Cup.

With the desire to play in the World Cup, the Chilean team is preparing to face the Kirin Cup, where they will face Tunisia on June 10 in the semifinals, and will also face another opponent on June 14.

On the other hand, South Korea will be part of Qatar 2022. They will face Portugal, Ghana, and Uruguay in Group H.
