Tremendous performance by the 'Yellow Submarine' in the first half. Just before the end of the first 45 minutes, they were winning 2-0 against Liverpool in the Champions League semifinals.
Boulaye Dia opened the scoring for Villarreal against Liverpool and Frenchman Francis Coquelin extended the lead just four minutes before the end of the first half. His goal came from a tremendous header that left goalkeeper Alisson Becker with no chance.
Etienne Capoue sent in a cross and Coquelin soared above everyone in Villarreal to reach the ball. The French midfielder beat Trent Alexander-Arnold to the header and powered it into the net.
