The Venezuelan wrestling delegation adds three new gold medals, one silver, and one bronze
The triumph of the Venezuelan representation only allowed Peru and Ecuador to obtain two more gold medals.
Although gold was not achieved, Venezuela also excelled in table tennis, where the men's delegation won the bronzes. Brazil, which dominates the medal table of the competition with 18 golds, 9 silvers, and 8 bronzes, won the individual discipline golds: Leonardo Izuka Kenzo among men and Giulia Takahashi among women, in podiums that also left the Brazilians with both silvers, while the bronzes were for Peru in the women's category.
In swimming, the Brazilian Stephanie Balduccini dominates with five medals: three golds, one silver, and one bronze. Colombia and Chile, with two South American titles each, follow the Amazonian nation in this discipline, and Argentina adds one gold and nine bronzes.
The Venezuelan Olympic Committee also reported that swimmer Emil Pérez won the silver medal in the 50m butterfly, "after stopping the clock at 24.84."
In taekwondo, Brazil also added four first places, while Colombia, Argentina, and Chile each added one in the rest of the competitions held so far.
The archery had two finals on this April 29th: in the mixed recurve event, Colombia was first, Brazil was second, and Chile was third, while in the mixed compound event, the gold was for Chile, the silver for Colombia, and the bronze for Ecuador.
The 3x3 basketball in its group stage, like rugby 7, began their competitions this Friday, and both practices will enter the decisive phase on April 30th.
Artistic roller skating, artistic gymnastics, tennis, and beach volleyball also continued with their respective programs in the Olympic Village located in the Independence Park of the city of Rosario, which brings together more than 2,500 boys and girls between 14 and 18 years old in their first multi-sport experience representing their countries.
The III South American Youth Games extend over 13 days and bring together 15 countries in 26 disciplines.
