Copa Kirin to be contested in Japan after five years
The Copa Kirin, which the Peruvian national team won three times, will be played again after five years, and the Japan Football Association announced that it will be held with four participants.
The Japanese national team will face the also World Cup teams Tunisia and Ghana, and Chile, who did not qualify for the 2022 World Cup, finishing seventh in the South American qualifiers.
The match between Chile and Tunisia will open the tournament at the Noevir Kobe Stadium, which will also host the second match immediately after: Japan vs. Ghana.
Chile will need to find a coach before facing the Copa Kirin after the departure of the Uruguayan Martín Lasarte, who was dismissed from his position as head coach of La Roja for failing to qualify for the World Cup.
