The Pope Francisco and Lionel Messi maintain a strong bond
Pope Francisco has shown on several occasions his interest in the 'king sport', like any good Argentine. That is why Lionel Messi did not miss the opportunity to give him a tremendous gift to his compatriot.
Through the French Prime Minister, Jean Castex, who met today with the Supreme Pontiff in the Private Library on the second floor of the Apostolic Palace of the Vatican, to deliver him a signed PSG jersey.
The Parisian jersey also had a dedication from the six-time Ballon d'Or winner to the Pope. "For Francisco, with much affection," wrote the Argentine national team member.
This is not the first time that Messi has given one of his jerseys to Francisco. He had previously sent him several jerseys he wore during his time with Barcelona, the club he left in mid-2021 after 21 years.
It is worth remembering that the 'flea' was not part of PSG's last victory against Angers, as he had just returned from the matches with the 'albiceleste' for the Qualifiers. However, he will be part of tomorrow's duel against RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
