The second leg of this playoff will be played on Tuesday, April 13th at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.

The Archahie of Haiti and Cruz Azul of Mexico draw 0-0 in the first leg of their Concacaf Champions League 2021 round of 16 match played at the Felix Sanchez Olympic Stadium in Santo Domingo.

With an alternative team, Cruz Azul controlled the first half and had the best dangerous approaches, but couldn't convert them.

Archahie managed to contain the attacks and played with the hope of an opponent's mistake to try to counterattack, but had no chance of troubling the Celeste team's goalkeeper.

The Mexican team had the first dangerous approach in the 9th minute when Santiago Gimenez cushioned the ball with his chest and took a shot inside the box that went straight to goalkeeper Gooly Elien's hands.

In the 20th minute, Elias Hernandez took a close-range volley that was saved by the Haitian goalkeeper.

Argentinian Walter Montoya attempted a long-range shot in the 33rd minute and hit the right post of Archahie's goal. This was the most dangerous play throughout the game.

In one of the few attempts by the Haitian team, Mylove Dorvilien had a wide shot off the Celeste goal in the 43rd minute.

In the second half, the Mexican squad had excessive ball possession without creativity or depth to overcome Archahahie's solid physical performance, which didn't lose organization as the minutes passed.

In the 49th minute, Montoya shot at the goal again and the goalkeeper easily resolved; Elien did the same four minutes later against Alexis Gutierrez's shot.

Elias Hernandez and Pedro Pacheco also tried to break the tie, but their attempts went wide of the Caribbean goal.

During the second half, Archahie failed to test Andrés Gudiño, the Celeste team's goalkeeper.

The second leg of this knockout tie will be played on Tuesday, April 13th at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
