Hernán Crespo leads Defensa y Justicia to victory in the Copa Sudamericana 2020

Recognized as a fearsome forward with almost fifteen years of outstanding career in European football, Hernán Crespo has reinvented himself as a coach and led the humble Defensa y Justicia to be crowned champions in the Copa Sudamericana 2020 this Saturday.

With Defensa's victory, a newcomer in continental finals that achieved its first international title in this Sudamericana, the former player added his most successful page as a coach and confirmed that his champion spirit remains intact.

Crespo's most glorious page was crowned this Saturday with a 3-0 victory in the Sudamericana final against Lanús, a team with more international experience that succumbed to an impeccable tactical approach by the coach who believed in the offensive power of his young team.

Just two days after winning the title with Defensa y Justicia, Hernán Crespo responded to the interest of the National Football Professional Association to become the replacement for Colombian Reinaldo Rueda as Chile's coach.

"I honestly don't know, I haven't asked," said the Argentine coach. Later, he was asked if he is interested in coaching a national team: "Yes, but I don't think it's correct to answer that, out of respect for the people of Defensa and the president."
