The German selector Joachim Löw lamented Alejandro Sabella's death, his rival in the Brazil 2014 final, and paid tribute to him by highlighting that he had managed to create a harmonious team with the union of much individual talent.
"The death of Alex Sabella saddens me. I only saw him in person once, in the Brazil 2014 final. But even before that, during the South American qualifiers for that World Cup, I had been interested in Argentina," said Löw in statements collected by the "Süddeutsche Zeitung" in Munich.
According to Löw, Sabella managed to create an incredible unity and team from individuals and superstars with great technical quality.
"He brought organization and discipline, he was a calm and analytical man. He always seemed sovereign to me. A coach with a game plan. That's why I always had great respect for his work," he pointed out.
"After the final, despite his disappointment, he congratulated me immediately. He will always remember that moment," he added. EFE
