The Bosnian Miralem Pjanic wants more playing time at Barcelona
Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic, who plays for Barcelona, considers it "clear" that he wants to play "much more" in coach Ronald Koeman's team and admits that he doesn't understand why he's not getting more playing time.
"Honestly, I also don't understand why I'm in this situation. It's clear that I want to play a lot more. I know I can contribute a lot, and whenever the coach has made me play, I've done well, I've played good games. I don't know what else I can do. I train, I'm ready," said Pjanic in an interview published by the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport" before the match against Juventus, his former team, in the Champions League.
"I'm not satisfied and I can't be, in my career I have never accepted the idea of not playing and now I don't either. We'll see, I'm ready, I train well and I hope, I have no other choice. It's a very delicate situation that doesn't suit me," added the Bosnian international.
Pjanic, who signed for Barcelona last summer in a deal that saw Brazilian Arthur Melo move to Juventus, has played eleven out of fifteen games for Koeman's team this year, five of them as a substitute.
The Bosnian international described Barcelona as the most important team in the world and promised to be ready to fight and secure a more important role.
"Juventus stayed in my heart, I follow them whenever I have the opportunity. The draw made me happy, it's a shame that I couldn't play in front of the fans in Turin, but there will be other opportunities. I wish the best for Juventus, but this Tuesday we want to win," he said.
"My nine years in Italy were very good and honestly I miss it. I had a great time at Roma and Juventus, I had important seasons. Now I have a new challenge at the biggest club in the world and I have to fight. It's a novelty that I wanted to face," he continued.
In the interview, Pjanic also described Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, his former teammate at Juventus, and Argentine Lionel Messi as examples for all, and praised Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Milan for his excellent start to the Serie A despite being 39 years old. EFE
