Barcelona Signs Sergiño Dest

Youthful full-back Sergiño Dest expressed his happiness on Friday for signing with Barcelona, where he will have the "amazing opportunity to play with the best player in the world", Lionel Messi.

"Playing with the best player in the world is something incredible. I will run wherever necessary for him and for everyone. It will be very exciting to meet him," said 19-year-old Sergiño during his presentation as a new player for Barcelona at Camp Nou.

This right-back, with both American and Dutch nationality, arrives at Barcelona from Ajax Amsterdam for 21 million euros plus 5 million in variables.

The player, the first American to play for Barça, has signed until June 2025 with a release clause of 400 million euros (470.4 million dollars). AFP
