Ciro Immobile renews contract with Lazio
Ciro Immobile, 30-year-old, top scorer of Serie A for the third time in his career last season, has renewed his contract until 2025 with Lazio, the club from the capital of Italy announced on Monday.
"With this decision, Immobile has committed to Lazio for life," said Stefano De Martino, Lazio's director of communication, on the club's website.
Immobile scored 36 goals last season, crucial for Lazio's successful campaign, as they were in the title race for a long time before finishing fourth and securing a spot in the next Champions League. He also won the Golden Boot.
The Italian international (39 caps, 10 goals) had a contract until 2023.
"It is a professional, sentimental, and family choice" for the player, commented Lazio, who aims to "consolidate what was achieved last season before further improving the squad, a topic we will announce news about soon." AFP
