In an interview with Barça TV, the Dutch coach reviews his return to Camp Nou in seven chapters.
1. The return to Barcelona
"I feel Barcelona as my home. In previous visits to the city, I was missing something. Because I hadn't come to work for FC Barcelona. Now I am the coach and I am very happy."
"The most important thing is to know, whether you are a coach, player or employee of Barça, that you are in the best club in the world. And nothing can be better. We are very fortunate to be part of this club."
2. The influence of Johan Cruyff
"Cruyff was one of the coaches from whom I learned the most, especially during the time we spent together in the 'Dream Team'. And not only as a player but also as a coach."
"We had the best combination: playing offensive football and winning titles. This is the philosophy that we will try to have at Barça. We have to play good football and make the fans enjoy it. And obviously, win, because that is the most important thing."
3. Koeman as a coach
"I am a coach who likes discipline and good organization of the team. I like to dominate the game. We Dutch like offensive football."
"I like to be direct and have good communication with the players. I have short meetings, but I make the message clear."
"I believe that as a coach, you need to enjoy football. We start playing football because we love the sport. Therefore, if you give everything you have with a smile, it's better."
4. Frenkie de Jong
"He is a very young player. The performance he has shown so far is excellent. And it is not an easy task for a young player arriving at Barça. He is a player for the future of FC Barcelona."
5. Leo Messi
"It is a pleasure to have a player like Messi in the team. With his quality, he will find space in the team's evolution."
"We cannot compare ourselves in free-kick taking, because Messi has scored many more. But I only played six seasons in Barça (laughs). It is always important to have a good free-kick and corner taker in the team."
6. The Wembley goal
"In the final against Sampdoria, I had in mind the trajectory before taking the shot. And I also had the feeling that I could score."
7. The family
"My father had a big influence on my football. He was a very critical person. He gave us the opportunity to improve our football level. He taught us to be respectful to others, both on and off the football field."
"My family told me to take being a footballer as something normal. Football attracts a lot of attention, but you have to be the star on the field, not off the field."
"I like to spend time with family. I am a very young grandfather and I like to spend time with my grandchildren."
