Luis Felipe Scolari aims to win against FC Barcelona

Exultant after his victory against America (2-1), Brazilian coach of Guangzhou Evergrande, Luiz Felipe Scolari, insisted that his work from now on will be to make his team aware that they can win against FC Barcelona in the Club World Cup.

"America had much more history, tradition, and experience than us. Why not dream now of winning against Barcelona? We will think this way and work towards it. I have to make my players aware that it is possible," said Luiz Felipe Scolari.

"We know that we are small, but we want to achieve it. We have been magnificent, we did what we had to do to play against Barcelona," continued Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Luiz Felipe Scolari, who substituted Robinho and Elkeson in the second half, believes that the changes were one of the keys to victory against America.

"I know my team very well, I know that the players, even when on the bench, can respond to any situation. The spirit and motivation of the group increased with the changes. The players showed potential and discipline," Luiz Felipe Scolari.

"In the first half, the match was even, then they had chances to score and they succeeded. We regained our spirit, sought out our destiny, and it worked out well for us," he added.

As expected, he highlighted the performance of Paulinho, the protagonist of the equalizer and the decisive goal in injury time.

"He is very strong in aerial play, both in defense and attack. He scored this type of goal for the national team and for Corinthians. We had to take advantage of his ability," he explained about his miraculous goal.

"I have excellent players and today we have put on a great show," concluded Scolari, who left the press room amidst applause from the Chinese journalists.
