Luka Romero
Luka Romero, midfielder of Mallorca and the youngest player to debut in the Spanish League, said on Monday that he is "bothered" by being compared to his idol Lionel because "there is only one Messi."
"It bothers me because there is only one Messi and I want to make a name for myself in football like Luka Romero," said the 15-year-old player in an interview with Fox Sports.
However, he clarified that it would be "a dream" to meet the forward of Barcelona because he has always been his "idol."
The attacking midfielder, son of Argentine footballer Diego Adrián Romero, was born in Mexico and is also an Argentine and Spanish citizen.
Romero has already played for the under-15 team of the Albiceleste and is being watched by Pablo Aimar, coach of the under-17 team.
"If they keep wanting me in Argentina, I will continue playing for Argentina," he said.
He also revealed that his father always showed him videos of both Diego Maradona and Messi.
Romero became the youngest player to debut in the Spanish League on June 24 when he came on as a substitute in the second half of the match that Mallorca lost to Real Madrid at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium with a score of 0-2. EFE
