Manchester City's comfortable victory against Bournemouth

Pep Guardiola's team, after a great start to the week with the reprieve from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding UEFA's sanctions, claimed a comfortable victory against Bournemouth, who are fighting for survival.

David Silva opened the scoring after five minutes with a precise free-kick that hit the crossbar and found the back of the net.

The Spanish player was involved in the second goal for the Citizens as well when he played a through ball to Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian striker, who is taking advantage of Sergio Agüero's injury to secure a starting position, dribbled past defenders inside the penalty area and finished with his right foot. In the final stretch of the match, David Brooks scored a consolation goal for Bournemouth.

Despite already securing the second place in the league, City achieved their third consecutive victory in the competition and is preparing for an important final stretch of the season with two crucial matches on the horizon.

The first one will be against Arsenal in the FA Cup semifinals on the upcoming weekend, with the possibility of reaching the final on August 1st.

After that, they will face Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 on August 7th.

On the other hand, Bournemouth finds themselves in a very delicate situation, in eighteenth place with 31 points, three points behind Watford, who still have a match to play.
