Aspas reaches 100 goals with Celta de Vigo in La Liga: the second in history
The Galician striker Iago Aspas reached his 100th goal with the Celta de Vigo shirt in La Liga on Tuesday against RCD Mallorca. Aspas scored the only goal for the visitors from a penalty kick in their team's heavy 5-1 defeat.
The 32-year-old player thus equaled Manuel Hermida, who played for Celta between the 1945-46 and 1953-54 seasons, according to Efe agency. In all competitions, Aspas has now scored 151 goals for the team, an absolute record for the Vigo club.
With 100 goals in a total of 194 matches, Aspas has an average of 0.52 goals per game, spanning seven seasons in the top category of Spanish football.
In addition, the Spanish international also set a new personal record by scoring in four consecutive matchdays.
