Press: UD Almería could dismiss Guti after losing against Alcorcón
The defeat of UD Almería on Thursday against AD Alcorcón (0-1) could cost coach José María Gutiérrez, 'Guti', his job. The Andalusian team is third in LaLiga SmartBank with 56 points and is five points behind the second-place team that grants direct access to LaLiga.
Although UD Almería has not officially announced Guti's dismissal, several Spanish and international media outlets consider it a done deal, including the newspaper Marca.
The former Real Madrid player has been the coach of Almería since November 5, replacing Portuguese manager Pedro Emanuel. In his 22 league matches with the club, Guti has achieved nine wins, five draws, and eight losses.
On the other hand, Fran Fernández's Alcorcón once again won away from home and remains the only team that has not suffered a defeat on the road out of the 42 clubs in Spanish professional football. They have already gone 18 consecutive away games without losing, a record figure.
