The National Professional Football Association (ANFP) of Chile published the ideal team of the Chilean league and the starting eleven is filled with Argentine football players who succeed in their positions in the different teams of the championship, which is paralyzed by the coronavirus after the dispute of eight matchdays.

Despite the local tournament not having advanced much when it had to be suspended due to the progression of the pandemic in the southern country, which already records 10,507 infected and 139 deaths from COVID-19, some players were already standing out in their respective clubs.

GOALKEEPER

In goal, the ANFP highlighted the work of Argentinean Alexis Martín, goalkeeper for Unión La Calera, in the second position of the table when the ball stopped rolling.

The goalkeeper had managed until then to keep his team as the second least conceded in the league, as he had only had to remove the ball from his goal six times out of seven played matches, leaving the goal untouched in three of them, in addition to having the best save percentage of the tournament (84.2%).

THE DEFENSIVE LINE

In defense, the ANFP chose the Italians Matías Rodríguez (Universidad de Chile) and Franco Bechtholdt (Curicó Unido) alongside Chilean Alfonso Parot (Universidad Católica).

The first played six matches in which he scored three goals - he is the highest-scoring defender in the league - and he is the player from U de Chile - in fourth position - who achieved the most steals and won duels.

Bechtholdt played six matches and averaged a 70% success rate in his duels with opponents, being the player from Curicó - in third position - with the most clearances and won aerial duels.

Chilean Parot is, from the left back, the player from Católica - league leader - who achieves the most recoveries after having participated in six matches, in addition to having provided two goal assists.

THE MIDFIELD

In the midfield, Venezuelan Eduardo Bello (Antofagasta) appears in the lineup alongside the Argentineans Gonzalo Castellani (Unión La Calera) and Luciano Aued (Universidad Católica), joined by Chilean Pablo Aránguiz (Universidad de Chile).

The latter, despite having arrived just a few months ago in the ranks of the blue club, became a key piece for the university team and has scored four goals and provided two assists.

Venezuelan Bello also has four goals and a couple of assists in Antofagasta - in fifth position - and is the player on his team who creates the most chances.

The Argentinean Castellani is the second player with the most completed passes and the best at La Calera in getting rid of his opponents.

His compatriot Aued has scored four goals in seven matches for the cross team and is the most decisive player on the team in generating danger in the opponent's goal.

THE ATTACKING FRONT

Although the ANFP chose scoring midfielders, the forward line is pure firepower with the Argentineans Joaquín Larrivey (Universidad de Chile) and Fernando Zampedri (Universidad Católica) alongside Chilean Roberto Gutiérrez (O'Higgins).

Larrivey arrived at the blue club in January and became the top scorer in the league with 5 goals, the same as his companions in the forward line of this ideal eleven, but he has also been the player who has scored the most goals in a single match (4 in the 5-1 win by U against Curicó).

Zampedri also joined Católica this season and became one of the most effective players in the local tournament, with five goals in just 16 shots on goal.

Rodríguez is a key piece in O'Higgins - third to last - as he has scored five of the 8 goals of the club in all matches played so far.

FROM THE BENCH

A dream team that needs a coach to be led, and the ANFP has decided that it should be Argentinean Ariel Holan, the coach of Católica, who has led the crusaders to top the leaderboard since the beginning of the tournament, keeping the team undefeated.
