Spanish midfielder Cesc Fábregas of Monaco dismissed the idea that his close friend, Argentine Lionel Messi, is considering leaving Barcelona at the end of the season due to issues with the board. He affirmed that Messi's "idea has always been to finish his career" at the club where he has played his whole life.
"I talk to Messi, his idea has always been to finish his career at Barcelona," said Cesc in an interview with Spanish radio Cope. "Many things can happen at the club, but I fully trust that he will finish his career at Barcelona."
The player is experiencing the distance as his great-grandmother contracts coronavirus at the age of 95. "She is fine, stable, and in good spirits. Despite being 95 years old, she is reacting well. She is still in the residence because at this age, very few are allowed into hospitals."
On a personal level, he is trying to stay fit with difficulties in the family apartment he has in Monaco. "There are few chalets here, so I live in an apartment. I manage with the balcony, where I have set up a bicycle, a running machine, and a strength machine that the club has given me."
