Uruguayan Paolo Montero, former player of Juventus and current coach of Sanbenedettese in Italy (third division), stated on Wednesday that his former French teammate Zinedine Zidane "is one of the most humble people" he knows.
"In that Juventus, we had players like (Alessandro) Del Piero and Zidane who solved games for us, and in South America, they teach us to defend against the strongest. 'Zizou' was one of the humblest I've known, and Juventus had very strong players pass through. It was impossible not to love 'Zizou'", Montero said in an interview with Italian television Sky Sport.
Paolo Montero shared the dressing room with Zidane at Juventus from 1996 to 2001 and still has a special affection for the current Real Madrid coach.
"Now I haven't written to him in six months because I don't want to bother him," explained Montero, who won four league titles, one Intercontinental Cup, one UEFA Super Cup, three Italian Super Cups, and one Intertoto Cup in his career at Juventus.
