Real Madrid forward and captain of the Belgian national team, Eden Hazard, commented on Thursday from his confinement in Madrid that he is "afraid" of contracting coronavirus "like everyone else", but above all, he is concerned about the possibility of transmitting the infection to other people.
"Afraid of catching it? Yes, like everyone else. I am especially afraid of passing it on to others if I get infected because it is more delicate. If I get infected, I think I will be able to manage it, and we have people available to take care of us. But I know that there are weaker people who have a tougher time with it, and that's who I'm worried about," the footballer said in a video.
Hazard expressed himself in this way during a telecommunication interview granted to the public radio and television "RTBF" from the Community of Madrid, which has added 265 more deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths since the beginning of the epidemic to 2,090, 51.11% of all deaths in Spain.
The Belgian midfielder sent a message of support to his fellow citizens in his home country: "Encouragement to everyone, and to those who heal the sick in Belgium. It's difficult, but it's thanks to you that people are doing better. Keep going, we're thinking of you, and stay strong," he concluded.
