The Peruvian tournament officially stopped last week due to the new coronavirus. It's not the only one. In fact, in recent days, competitions in different countries have been suspended to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
In the last hours, it was announced that both Bolivia and Chile decided to join this measure, suspending their football tournaments until further notice.
"Prioritizing the health and well-being of all those involved in Bolivian football, the suspension of all championships (professional and amateur divisions) in their various categories, played throughout the national territory, is determined until March 31, 2020," states a statement from the Bolivian Football Federation. In Bolivia, there are currently 11 confirmed cases.
On the other hand, the ANFP decided to suspend Chilean football after the Government announced that the country has entered phase 4 of the new coronavirus, with 155 cases nationwide. After the matches this Monday, the tournament will be suspended for 14 days.
In Argentina, on the other hand, football continues, although behind closed doors. On the other hand, in Brazil, the competitions organized by the Brazilian Football Confederation have been suspended until further notice. However, the continuity of the different state tournaments that are in progress will depend on each regional federation.
