Tottenham held to a draw by Burnley in the Premier League

After the disaster of being knocked out of the FA Cup by bottom-placed Norwich City, Tottenham failed to bounce back in the league.

Jose Mourinho's side had a bad start at Turf Moor and were already behind on the scoreboard after 13 minutes. A poor clearance by the Spurs' defense from a cross allowed for a shot from outside the box that Hugo Lloris failed to save, and Chris Wood, alert, pushed it into the net.

Burnley held the lead until the second half when Dele Alli, playing as a false nine due to the absences of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son, equalized from the penalty spot.

Despite having chances in the final minutes, Tottenham could not overturn the score and settled for a draw against Sean Dyche's team.

Although it ends a run of four consecutive defeats in all competitions, Tottenham's moment is delicate. The Londoners are in eighth place with 41 points, two behind Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are in Europa League positions, and four behind Chelsea, who are in the Champions League positions and still have a game to play.
