Arsenal advances to the next round in the Europa League

In the case of the English team, after winning 0-1 in their visit to Olympiacos' field with a goal by French forward Alexandre Lacazette in the last nine minutes of the game, after hammering the ball into the net from a cross by Bukayo Saka.

A goal that puts Mikel Arteta's team on the path to the round of 16, who, after a poor league campaign, have their only opportunity to play in the Champions League next season by winning the Europa League.

Wolverhampton secures a major victory against Espanyol

If Arsenal secured a spot in the round of 16, Wolverhampton practically secured both feet with a 4-0 victory over Espanyol, led by a voracious Diogo Jota, who scored three of the four goals for the English team.

In the first goal, Jota showed his opportunism by "stealing from the pocket" of Espanyol captain Víctor Sánchez in a corner kick, scored by Mexican Raúl Jiménez. In the next two goals, the Portuguese international demonstrated his abilities as one of the most effective finishers of the season.

However, if there is something to remember from the match between the English and the Spanish, it will be the spectacular goal from Portuguese midfielder Rubén Neves, who controlled a clearance from the "perica" defense with his chest and, without letting the ball drop, struck a powerful shot from outside the box that ended up in the top corner of the net.

Impressive goals and unexpected outcomes

An equally impressive goal was scored by Brazilian player Fransergio for Braga in the match against Glasgow Rangers. However, just like the goal scored by former Barcelona player Abel Ruiz assisted by future Barcelona player Trincao, it did not help the Portuguese team, who despite taking a 0-2 lead, ended up succumbing to the strength of Rangers, who turned the score around (3-2) with a brace from Ianis Hagi, son of the legendary Gica Hagi.

Meanwhile, former Barcelona academy player Carles Pérez led his team to victory by scoring the only goal (1-0) for Italian team Roma against Gante. Pérez, who made his debut as a starter with Roma, demonstrated his quality in the box by resolving a through pass from Bosnian player Edin Dzeko.

This victory will allow Roma to face the second leg with a slight advantage, just like Eintracht Frankfurt, who won 2-1 against Porto. The German team seemed to have the tie secured with goals from Argentine Lucas Alario and Kai Havertz, who scored a penalty goal at the 57th minute to make it 2-0. However, their continuity in the tournament was put in jeopardy by Colombian player Luis Díaz, who scored the final goal in the 73rd minute, keeping the Portuguese team's chances alive.

Similarly, Wolfsburg will have to defend their 2-1 lead against Malmö in Sweden, after turning around an initial 0-1 deficit with an own goal by Isaac Kiese Thelin, who ironically had opened the scoring for the Scandinavian team.

On the other hand, Basel should have no problem securing their spot in the round of 16, after a convincing 0-3 victory against Cypriot team APOEL. The tie between AZ Alkmaar and Austrian team LASK will be decided in the second leg, after a 1-1 draw in the match played at the Dutch team's stadium.
