Naples Fails to Maintain Consistency, Alarm Bells Ringing Again

Naples is unable to achieve the necessary consistency to take the step forward that its loyal parish desires. The victory at San Paolo against Juventus seemed to mark a true turning point in the course of the Neapolitan squad this season, in addition to the agonizing triumph at the home of a Sampdoria that has notably improved with Claudio Ranieri.

However, the disaster at home on Sunday, February 9th against Lecce, a theoretically inferior rival compared to the club presided over by Aurelio De Laurentiis, has caused the alarm bells to ring again in Naples. It should be recalled that the team is paired with FC Barcelona in the Champions League Round of 16, so the vibes are not particularly positive for the Neapolitans heading into the clash with the Blaugrana.

Therefore, according to information gathered by Sky Sport, Naples is planning the next season without guaranteeing the continuity of Gennaro Gattuso. The former AC Milan coach, who replaced Carlo Ancelotti (a well-known figure at Real Madrid) on the bench in mid-December 2019, is not living up to the expectations generated by his signing.

The aforementioned source assures that Naples has its sights set on Ivan Juric, who is doing a magnificent job with Hellas Verona. Just recently, his team was able to knock out Juventus in the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium, overcoming Cristiano Ronaldo's initial goal (the Portuguese forward has scored in the last 10 Serie A matches).
