The Inter Miami wants to become one of the new references in the North American Major League Soccer

The new franchise sponsored by David Beckham starts its journey this season with the firm intention of aspiring to the title. "The ambition is to try to win the league from the first year, although it will probably become an obligation in the second year," confirms their coach, Uruguayan Diego Alonso, to the newspaper Marca.

Recruitment of Top-Level Players

To make the task easier, the club has set out to recruit top-level players. In fact, after showing interest in Edinson Cavani (PSG), the leaders have set their sights on Luka Modric, a midfielder to whom they have already promised a salary that doubles what he currently earns at Real Madrid. Although at Chamartín they almost completely rule out the possibility of the Croatian leaving the club while the season is still ongoing (the MLS starts in March), the summer could be a propitious time to reach an agreement between the parties.

Pursuit of Sergio Ramos and Gerard Piqué

But the plans of the American team do not stop there. In fact, during his appearance on the program El Chiringuito de Jugones, the controversial journalist Eduardo Inda assured that Beckham has also begun to express interest in two other prestigious footballers: Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) and Gerard Piqué (FC Barcelona). "Inter Miami wants to sign two great stars of world football, stars of their respective teams. They are Sergio Ramos and Gerard Piqué," he said.

Possible Transfers

As of today, the first of them has a contract with the Madrid team until June 2021, but his continuity beyond that date is not guaranteed. "Ramos' contract ends in 2021, but there is a problem because at Madrid they only renew players who are 35 years old or older on a yearly basis," added Inda. In the case of Piqué, his commitment extends until 2022.
