Injury to Barcelona Goalkeeper Neto
Brazilian goalkeeper, Neto, suffered an ankle sprain on Wednesday in the round of 16 match of the Copa del Rey against Ibiza, the club confirmed on Thursday. Barcelona has not provided a timeline for his return.
"The tests conducted on Thursday confirmed that the first team player Neto has a sprained left ankle," Barcelona stated in a press release.
The Catalan club did not specify the length of his absence but mentioned that "his availability will depend on his recovery."
According to the Spanish media, the Brazilian goalkeeper could be out for two to three weeks.
Neto, Barcelona's second goalkeeper, sustained the injury in the match against lower division team Ibiza in the Copa del Rey round of 16 on Wednesday. Barcelona won the match 2-1 in extra time, thanks to a brace from Antoine Griezmann.
