FC Barcelona: The New Brazilian Talents
Just like Real Madrid, a team that has recently recruited Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Reinier, FC Barcelona has also decided to dive into the Brazilian market in search of new talents. In fact, over the past few weeks, the press has linked the Catalan team with midfielder Matheus Fernandes (Palmeiras) and forwards Marcos Paulo (Fluminense) and Talles Magno (Vasco da Gama).
Joining them today is Yan Couto. According to Globoesporte, Barcelona is already in advanced negotiations to acquire the services of this young right-back who plays for Coritiba and recently had a sensational U17 World Cup with the Brazilian national team (among other things, he provided the assist to Lázaro Vinicius for the winning goal in the final).
To secure his signing and outperform the competition of other clubs like Arsenal or Bayer Leverkusen, Barcelona will offer around €5M. However, his arrival in the Catalan city will not happen until next summer, by which time the player will already be 18 years old. Additionally, his current club wants the defender to be able to compete in the beginning of the Copa do Brasil and the Brasileirao.
A right-back with great stamina who stands out for his ball skills, Couto was included by The Guardian in a list that compiled the names of the top 60 young talents in the world. Among them were his compatriots Reinier and Talles Magno.
