Real Madrid and Manchester United interested in Boubakary Soumaré
At the beginning of this month of January, Marca newspaper reported that Real Madrid was closely following the progress of up to three players from Lille: Brazilian defender Gabriel, French midfielder Boubakary Soumaré, and Nigerian forward Victor Oshimen.
In recent hours, the second of these players is making news again because another major club on the continent, Manchester United, is also monitoring his performance. According to the Daily Star, Ed Woodward himself recently traveled to France to assess the value of the young midfielder (20 years old).
Although the main target for the Red Devils is currently Portuguese player Bruno Fernandes (Sporting de Portugal), the club does not rule out casting its nets over this footballer who has recently been linked to clubs such as Tottenham and Valencia. His current contract with Lille runs until June 2022.
Soumaré, who has gone through all the lower categories of the French national team and is currently one of the stalwarts of the U-21 team, stands out for his powerful physique (188 cm), his good positioning, and his more than notable ball handling. This season he has played 25 games with Christophe Galtier's team.
