Máximo Banguera cannot hide his annoyance. He gave his word to El Nacional, but has not yet signed with the locals for 2020 due to a matter he considers 'personal'. The soccer player once again expressed his dissatisfaction with the leadership headed by Carlos Alfaro Moreno because they have not yet finalized an agreement to formalize his departure from the club torero. José Francisco Cevallos, Alfaro Moreno's predecessor, extended the goalkeeper's contract until 2021.

"We will try, once again, to find a way to reach an agreement so that both parties are satisfied. This is not that they are helping me, I am the one facilitating. We have accepted that they pay us (outstanding amounts) on the date they say," said the 34-year-old goalkeeper to radio Redonda.

"The only thing we ask is that they comply with the deadlines they (the directors) set. First they made me a proposal and we accepted it, but then they called us to say that they needed 14 months to pay off the debt; I accepted that. Then they told me that the 20% they had to pay to achieve the agreement (settlement) they could only pay 10%; I accepted that as well. I don't know what they are looking for, I think it has become personal," Banguera added.

The goalkeeper insisted that he has accepted all the proposals made by the current board, however, he says he has not received any response. "This should have been resolved in one or two days and we have been dealing with it for over a month. I have agreed to everything," clarified the goalkeeper.

Banguera revealed that the club owes him from past campaigns (some since 2014). "I accepted that they pay me half, but they want to pay half of that. I don't know what to do because the teams are already being assembled," he added.

Although annoyed, Banguera avoided talking about possible legal actions against his former club. (D)

I have no problems with him (Alfaro Moreno), I don't know if he has problems with me. I don't want problems, I just want to leave in the best way."
