A despondent José Mourinho revealed on Boxing Day that his dog died on Christmas day. He made this known in a live interview prior to the match between his team Tottenham and Brighton for matchday 19 of the Premier League.
On December 25th, Mourinho's dog Leya passed away due to a heart attack. "To be honest, it was very sad because my dog died and my dog is my family," 'Mou' confessed to Amazon Prime.
"But we have to move on," added the 56-year-old Portuguese coach, who thanked the journalists for their condolences.
El Chiringuito de España recalled that Mourinho was arrested by UK police in 2007 on suspicion that the "animal had arrived in the UK illegally and without being vaccinated." However, it all ended up being an anecdote.
Under Mourinho's command, Tottenham defeated Brighton 2-1 with goals from Harry Kane and Delle Alli.
