Liverpool defeats Watford to remain undefeated

Jürgen Klopp's men, after saving their commitment in the Champions League against Salzburg and advancing as group winners to the knockout stages, continued their unbeaten run in the domestic league and overcame the last-placed team with more difficulties than expected.

After 39 difficult minutes in which Liverpool did not shoot on target, Mohamed Salah put his team ahead by taking advantage of a good combination with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané.

The Egyptian finished with a perfect curve with his right leg, his second consecutive goal with his "weak foot", after the impossible goal he scored against Salzburg from an almost impossible angle.

From there, Watford had several chances to equalize, especially through Ismaila Sarr, and one of them made Gerard Deulofeu hold his head in disbelief at the miss.

In the second half, the script did not change much and, although Mané scored with a header from Xherdan Shaqiri's pass to put the second goal, VAR ruled that there was an offside by a few centimeters and prevented Jürgen Klopp's recently renewed team from closing the match with more tranquility until stoppage time, when Salah sealed the victory with a backheel touch, his ninth goal in the league.

Liverpool solidifies their lead in the Premier League with 49 points, nine more than Leicester City and seventeen more than Manchester City, although these two teams still have to play their matches in this round.
