Inter Milan targets two Genoa players
Although the victory against Hellas Verona in the last matchday of Serie A (2-1) has helped relieve the tension, complaints from Inter Milan's coach, Italian Antonio Conte, still resonate in the club's offices. The coach accused the club of not planning the season correctly and, in some way, being responsible for the painful defeat suffered against Borussia Dortmund in the last matchday of the Champions League (3-2). "We should have planned this season much, much better. We proved that we can bother anyone if we are in shape, but there are players who have played non-stop. I'm tired of saying it," he asserted last week.
Therefore, it is not surprising that since then, the management has tightened the circle around all those players who are interesting to their coach. Among them would be two members of the current Genoa squad, Colombian midfielder Kevin Agudelo (20 years old) and Ivorian striker Christian Kouamé (21).
According to CalcioMercato.com, a scout from Inter traveled to southern Italy last Saturday to witness the match between Naples and the Genoa team and to expand on the already excellent reports they have on the former. The latter did not play because he was called up for international duty.
Agudelo, who arrived at Luigi Ferraris last summer, started the season as a substitute but has gradually made his way into Thiago Motta's plans (he has started in the last three matchdays). His current contract expires in June 2023. On that same date, Kouamé's contract also ends. This season, he has scored 5 goals and provided 3 assists in 12 official matches.
