A few days ago, Conmebol confirmed Santiago de Chile as the venue for the final of the 2019 Copa Libertadores between River Plate and Flamengo. However, the protests in the capital of Chile continue to put the realization of the event in jeopardy in the mentioned city.
Faced with such a problem, the governing body of South American football has summoned the representatives of River and Flamengo to a meeting where all issues related to the Libertadores final will be discussed.
"CONMEBOL has invited the presidents of the finalist clubs of the @Libertadores, the presidents of the associations of Argentina, Brazil, and Chile to a meeting on Tuesday, November 5, with the aim of reviewing all aspects of the organization of the Final Única," they published on Twitter.
Ratified a few days ago
The governing body of South American football stated a few days ago in a statement that "it is in constant contact with the authorities and all entities related to the realization of the spectacle of the unique final in Santiago de Chile".
And it adds that "CONMEBOL reaffirms its commitment to play the unique final of the CONMEBOL Libertadores 2019 on the initially agreed date, place, and time".
The unique final of the Copa Libertadores is scheduled to be played on November 23 in Santiago de Chile. Tickets are almost sold out. It just remains to be confirmed if the protests will not disrupt the event's development.
