Saúl Ñíguez (24 years old), football player of Atlético de Madrid, reviews his career
In an interview with the magazine Libero, Saúl Ñíguez expressed his well-being with Atlético de Madrid: "I arrived at a united dressing room, without egos, and that's how it went for us. We won the Nike Cup in Spain, but we were eliminated by Sao Paulo in the World Cup. We competed against older people and it brought out the best in me," he began.
"I play for Atlético and I enjoy it a lot. And we need to show people that you can also enjoy playing like this. Why do you think Atlético fans applaud when you steal a ball? And why do you think Atlético fans are different? Because you press and your center-back and the whole team go at the same time and your fans applaud..." he said.
"That energy... you manage to do what you want, whether it's stealing a ball or avoiding harm or defending a play and clearing it... and I also enjoy that. Maybe I go to Barça or City and I'm not sure I'll enjoy it as much as I do now. And yes, the ball and everything, but I enjoy it more here," he confessed.
