Lionel Messi sets new record in Champions League
Lionel Messi added another record to his career by becoming the first player to score at least one goal in fifteen consecutive editions of the Champions League. This happened during the match against Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic.
The Argentine star stole the ball from Petr Sevcik at the edge of the box and passed it to Arthur, who sent the ball to the penalty spot, where the Barcelona captain made no mistake. Lionel Messi scored his 113th goal in 138 Champions League matches.
Barcelona won 2-1 against Slavia Prague on Wednesday in the third round of the Champions League, taking the lead in Group F and taking a big step towards the knockout stages of the tournament.
Barcelona captain Lionel Messi opened the scoring early (3rd minute), but Jan Boril equalized later (49th), before Peter Olayinka scored an own goal to make it 1-2 (56th), giving three valuable points to Barcelona.
The Spanish team now leads the group with a three-point advantage over Borussia Dortmund, who lost 2-0 against Inter Milan, the third-placed team in the group, on Wednesday.
