Luca Zidane from Racing Santander: "I don't regret leaving Real Madrid"
Luca Zidane, goalkeeper for Racing de Santander, stated that he does not regret leaving Real Madrid because he "wanted to take the step" of playing for another team to "prove" his worth. Regarding a possible return to the white club, he said that "in a few years it will be seen" because he is currently "comfortable" at the LaLiga SmartBank club.
The young French goalkeeper, who belongs to Real Madrid, is enjoying his starting position at Racing de Santander, where he is on loan for a season. "The results are not going as we want, but we are in a good dynamic and I hope they improve," said Zidane, emphasizing several times that he is "very comfortable" in Santander.
"I am very happy to be at this great club because the people have received me very well. It has been a big change, but I feel very good. I don't regret leaving Real Madrid. I know it was an important step and I wanted to take it because I needed to be in a professional team, play, and show what I am worth," he highlighted at a publicity event in Madrid.
About his possible return to Real Madrid, which is supposed to happen when the loan ends, Luca Zidane said: "What may happen in a few years will be seen. I understand that it is normal for them to ask me about Real Madrid, but I am not going to talk about it. I just say that I see the team well and, although the results have not been good in the Champions League, I trust the squad."
Finally, Luca was asked about his father, Zinedine Zidane, coach of Real Madrid, although his response was clear: "I will not give my opinion on that matter."
