Spain's National Team
Spain's national team is having an almost flawless qualifying phase to advance to next summer's Eurocup. If it weren't for the goal from the Norwegians in the decisive action of last Saturday's match, 'La Roja' would have joined the select club that has already officially confirmed their ticket to the 2020 tournament in the Old Continent.
6 victories and 1 draw make up the 19 points in the 7 games that Robert Moreno's pupils, with Luis Enrique in mind, have played to secure their place in Eurocup 2020. However, it seems that the national team is one step below the top contenders to win the title, which currently belongs to Portugal.
In fact, the team led by Cristiano Ronaldo would not, in my opinion, be among the favorites to lift the trophy. Holland, France, Germany, or England, not to mention Belgium or Croatia, will (again, in my opinion) be the teams to beat in order to win a championship that Spain won consecutively in 2008 and 2012.
It's possible that Spain will be at the same level as Portugal, a team in which Italy's candidacy should also be included. However, the beautiful game has shown on more than one occasion that speculation is of little use, especially without knowing the final draw to compete in the tournament. Otherwise, just remember the Eurocup 2004, which resulted in the crowning of Greece in Portuguese territory.
