While Barcelona sighs for the emergence of Ansu Fati, there are European clubs that are already thinking about how to take away another one of the players who represents the future of the club in the 2020 transfer market. According to the Spanish portal 'Don Balón', that club is Manchester City, who is going for the services of the homegrown player Riqui Puig.
According to the aforementioned source, Josep Guardiola wants to take advantage of the fact that all of Barcelona's attention is focused on Ansu Fati to 'assault' La Masia. The one from Santpedor has reactivated his interest in Puig and hopes to sign him in the winter transfer market or, in the worst case, in the summer of 2020.
The former coach of the 'Culés' believes that Riqui Puig is what 'his' Manchester City needs to strengthen their midfield. He has in his favor that the so-called 'new Iniesta' does not count for Valverde this season and he would take advantage of the situation to offer him a contract with guaranteed regularity in the City's first team.
As with Manchester City, Riqui Puig has been linked to other clubs in the last summer transfer market. One of them has been Tottenham, whose coach, Mauricio Pochettino, asked for the loan of the Barcelona homegrown player for a season, but Camp Nou closed the door.
